Awards

Best Paper and Poster Awards

This year we will be offering new awards to recognize the best research presented at OPAM, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Visual Cognition. Every presenter will be automatically eligible for these awards. Throughout the day, presentations will be judged by a panel of Associate and Consulting Editors from the Visual Cognition Editorial Board. We will announce the winners after the keynote address. The Best Paper (that is, talk) will receive $300 and the Best Poster will receive $200.

Travel Awards

We are accepting nominations for three $250 travel awards to attend the 2012 meeting. This award is made possible, in part, by National Eye Institute/National Institutes of Health.

Everyone submitting an abstract to this year's meeting is eligible to apply for this award. Faculty advisors are asked to nominate a trainee/student for this award by filling out a recommendation form, which describes:

  • How the nominee will benefit from attending OPAM 2012
  • How the nominee will contribute to advance understanding of object processing
  • Any funding limitations for travel that the nominee may have

The award result will be contingent upon the quality of the submitted abstract and summary as well as the content of the recommendation form. The travel award is open to postdoctoral, graduate and undergraduate trainees. Nominations of undergraduate and masters students are greatly encouraged. There is no citizenship requirement.
